Chiemsee

The Chiemsee with its islands of Fraueninsel and Herreninsel is a wonderful destination for a day trip. You can take boat trips to visit the islands, including Bavarian King Ludwig II's Herrenchiemsee castle.

You can go there with the 'Bayernticket' with up to 5 persons for 27.00 €.

How to get there: Rosenheimer Platz: any of S1-8 in the direction of Ostbahnhof; change to train Ostbahnhof - Prien (every hour).
Total duration: 1 hour (one way).

Ammersee

A rewarding day trip is Herrsching on Ammersee, together with a boat-trip or walk to the monastery/brewery Kloster Andechs. 1-day ticket for up to 5 adults: 17.00 €. Children under 14 years: 1-day ticket of € 2.30 each.

How to get there: Rosenheimer Platz: S5 Herrsching, station: Herrsching.
Duration: 54 minutes (one way)

Starnberger See

Starnberger See is the second largest lake in Bavaria (after Chiemsee) and is embedded in the beautiful scenery of the foothills of the Alps. 1-day ticket for up to 5 adults: 17.00 €. Children under 14 years: 1-day ticket of € 2.30 each.

How to get there: Rosenheimer Platz: S6 Tutzing. station: Starnberg.
Duration: 38 minutes (one way)

Salzburg (Austria)

After a short walk up the local mountains of Salzburg, the town where Mozart was born, looking down over the sea of roofs you can catch some most amazing views. The Salesianum

The "Jugendgästehaus Don Bosco", guesthouse for young people, is a section of Salesianum, offering residence for more than 400 young people during the time of their training and apprenticeship - the biggest residential for young people in Germany. The Salesians of Don Bosco have been running the house since 1919. The religious order of the Salesians is committed to promote Don Bosco´s (1815-1888) principles and teachings all over the world.
